The European Vacua

Yes, that word is indeed the plural of vacuum, but it sounds just as strange in English as in German, so I shall rather speak of vacuum conditions.
This morning I listened to a report on Geert Wilders’ trial in an Amsterdam court for incitement to racial hatred.
Very likely I am pretty much in agreement with Geert Wilders as regards the assessment of the ideological dangers of Islam.
Where we part company is with regard to the measures we here in Europe ought to take in view of the advance of Islam, as a result of immigration and other reason.
I believe the reason Europe is indeed threatened by Islam is the dual vacuum which exists in our continent, with the second vacuum caused by the first.
The first vacuum is a spiritual vacuum. Europe has for the most part decided to ignore its Christian heritage, and even despises it. Since however man is not just a material being, but a spiritual being, with a longing for spiritual fulfillment, other spiritual influences are advancing to fill the vacuum. Islam is one of these spiritual influences, and immigration moratoria will not stop its advance.
The second vacuum is a population vacuum, due to the shrinking birth rate in Europe, which is directly caused by the rejection of Christian values of marriage and family. When the relationship between men and women is no longer seen in the first place as a life-long marriage for the purpose of procreation and the raising of children, but rather as a means of self-realization, when children are seen as a nuisance and impediment, and are prevented through contraception and abortion, Europe and other “western” parts of the world will have this increasing population vacuum, into which the birth-rich Muslims will advance — and immigration moratoria will not stop their advance.
For this reason, unless we reverse these two vacuum condition, which I consider highly unlikely, the slogans spouted by Geert Wilders really are nothing but incitement to religious, ethnic, and racial hatred.
