Praying for Unity

Today (Jan 16, 2011) ended the annual Prayer Week of the Evangelical Alliance, here in Vienna with a very nice prayer service in the “mother church” of all Austrian Baptist churches, Mollardgasse Baptist Church, and on Tuesday (Jan 18, 2011) begins the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, sponsored by the member churches of the Ecumenical Council of Churches and the Roman-Catholic Church.
On the one hand it is a shame that Evangelicals and “Ecumenicals” cannot agree on a joint week of prayer; on the other hand this situation makes it easier to attend prayer services of both “traditions” — if only one could find a comprehensive list of services for the upcoming “Christian Unity” week in the Vienna region.
Evidently the unity of the organizers doesn’t extend to coming up with a joint programme to post on the internet. Pity.
