Michael Spencer a.k.a. Internet MonkUpdate: Here is the official obituary on the iMonk website.

Chaplain Mike posted on the Internet Monk website that Michael Spencer passed away last night (Easter Monday) in Oneida, KY, in the presence of his family.

“I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

I have been following Mike’s blog and interacting with him for the past four years, and he has been an encouragement and challenge to me in my Christian walk, and in his passing is an inspiration for me as well.

I look forward to buying his book, “Mere Churchianity: Finding Your Way Back to Jesus-Shaped Spirituality” when it is released in October. This was Michael’s project during the past year, and he finished it just before being diagnosed with cancer last fall. I am glad he is leaving this legacy.

Please pray for Michael’s wife Denise, his daughter Noel Cordle with husband Ryan, and his son Clay with wife Taylor.

Update:
